Best Afternoon Tea In Covent Garden

Introduced in the 19th century by the Duchess of Bedford, when hunger pangs struck between meals, afternoon tea is now a quintessential part of British culture. The 4 o'clock snacking session quickly caught on, with upper-class women of the 1880s donning their finest frocks to  catch-up with friends while tucking into tiers of cakes, scones, finger sandwiches and cups of tea.

These days, we may not dress up as fancy, but boy do we still put on one helluva spread, especially when it comes to afternoon tea in Covent Garden; as the heart of the West End, this stunning, much-loved area is home to some of the capital's top restaurants and hotels, which means that you can enjoy pretty, traditional cream teas, as well as quirky tiers of sushi and dumplings paired with prosecco. Whether you want to treat mum, are celebrating a birthday or looking for cute hen do ideas, discover the creme de la creme of the area's afternoon teas below.
