Hailed as one of the most influential beer festivals in the world, Craft Beer Rising returns to the Old Truman Brewery for its fifth year of handing out the ultimate hops. From new products and recipes down to street food and entertainment, CBR London 2017 (23-25 February) is not only bigger and better than ever with over 170 breweries at hand, it's also crucial for craft beer fans, and we've got 5 reasons why...
The Street Food
Craft Beer Rising continue to up their beer game year on year, but there's another gluttonous game that they keep on winning at, and that's their food offering. Pivotal before, after or during your journey around some of the event's best brews, you'll be able to exchange hard-earned money for food stuffs from revered names, stalls and street food saviours.
The Live Music and Entertainment
We all know that a pint goes down well, but it goes down better with a little entertainment. Drawing in the crowds for yet another year, CBR London 2017 isn't just fronting some of the best beer brands, they're big in the DJ and music department. From performances courtesy of the Showhawk Duo, events from Pete Paphides and the London Disco Society down to DJ Yoda headlining Saturday night, and The Reflex on Friday, there's plenty to get stuck into.
The Must-Have Merch Items
Commercialism, it's pretty hot right now. And while we're not quite a fan of its main constructs, we are massive fans of buying pretty, and oh so glittery things for ourselves. While CBR London 17 may be geared toward beer, it's also pretty strong in the 'stuff' department. From breweries stocking their own items to the event itself boasting merch, there's plenty of great t-shirts, trinkets and tankards to purchase.
All The Beer
We work with DrinkAware, meaning that while we'd recommend you try ALL of the 700 beers on offer at Craft Beer Rising 2017, we kinda can't. We can however recommend you try a hardy dose of this year's vendors; what with breweries the likes of Stone and Wood, Tiny Rebel Brewing, East London Brewing, and Rat Brewery on hand, you'll not only find new names, new brews and new flavours, you'll be the envy of all your craft-beer fronting friends.
The People
While many say 'it's the people that make it', we rarely believed such a far-flung thought.....until Craft Beer Rising. Not only is this one of the friendliest craft beer events in the UK, it's likely one of the most insightful. From vendors handing out new clues to their craft and tips for brewing, to laughs, talks on product launches and tastings; guess what... it's actually the people that make it.
