I know I’ve been partial to a nice cut of steak before - or maybe even a caramelised onion sausage moment if I’m feeling really fancy but with lock down, I've had to cut down on my carnivorous ways. Not for much longer. We’ve found a list of the London butchers that are delivering the goods to our homes (with both online shops and takeaway options). Not a meat eater? There might be a cheeky vegan option lurking in this list (you’ll just have to read to find out).
Turner & George
Offering beef, mutton, lamb, pork AND poultry, this Angel-based butcher has great options for anyone's meaty preference. Not sure what you like? They even deliver a taster box filled with fine cuts for you to cook up and enjoy. If all else fails and you decide a friend is in need of a treat instead, you can spoil them with a gift card to be redeemed at Turner & George online.

The Ginger Pig
Keeping it simple with beef, pork and lamb options is The Ginger Pig, one of our top picks for butcher delivery in London. They’re known for their expertise in crafting delicious sausages from typically unsold meat, a process that usually results in long lunchtime queues. Even better news, this famous butcher is now offering its award-winning sausage rolls for home delivery, along with a wide selection of cuts and an assemblage of meat boxes for slightly larger dinner orders.

The Camden Grocer
Not only have The Camden Grocer teamed up with Turner & George to get their meat, they’re also still offering all of their grocery items for delivery as well. Order in some premium blackcurrant & sloe gin jam and pair it with a freshly baked sourdough. Or why not stock up on some essentials like pasta, rice and grains? The cherry on top of the cake (or the garlic butter on top of the steak)? They’re offering discounts for key workers. If your postcode is NW1, N1, NW3, NW5, NW8 or WC1 then get started on your home delivery order.

The Butchery
Their name may be minimal but their selection of meat is certainly not. This Southeast London butcher is known for their assortment of cuts from different breeds of animal from all over the UK. They’ve even got more off-the-wall options such as rib and bone marrow sausages and pear, date and ale chutney. A full list of postcodes that The Butchery deliver to can be found on their website. Fair warning however: you’ll only be able to enjoy this perk from South and East London.

Mac & Wild
Usually our place to go for authentic and hearty Scottish food, Mac & Wild is now opening their doors (not physically) and allowing you to order meat directly from their Scotland-based farms. Being extra as always, expect huge hampers like the ‘meat survival box’ filled with over £200 worth of… you guessed it, meat. Other boxes include the ‘breakfast box’, the ‘muscle box’ and the ‘family meat box’ which contains enough protein for the week.

Cobble Lane Cured
Although their little factory may not be open to the public, this Islington-based butcher is committed to kitting Londoners out with meat whilst we’re at home. Cobble Lane Cured specialise in cured meats, which they cut, smoke and hang themselves. One click onto their online store is enough to get your mouth watering, with options like beef jerky, fennel and garlic salami, and 'Nduja sausage.

Sgaia Foods
Offering plant-based and vegan meat options, Sgaia Foods is the brainchild of two Italians who came to England in 2011. Expect an entirely vegan product range, including hot chilli salamino and an absolutely mouth-water sage and onion fillet roast. If you’re taking advantage of a garden (lucky you) then Sgaia Foods have got you sorted with their vegan BBQ bumper pack - filled with streaky bacon, smoked steaks and burger patties.
