It’s safe to say that 2019 saw Brits enter into what can only be described as a state of dairy delirium - from cheese-laden conveyor belts to fromage-themed crawls and giant 3kg melted monstrosities, we just couldn't get enough of the stinky stuff. But that, it would seem, was just the warm-up for 2020's endeavours: that’s right people, a cheese hotel is coming to London and it’s going to brie totally crackers.
Opening in the heart of Camden on the 31st of January for one week only, this place will be a dreamland for those fondue of the colour yellow. We’re talking themed wallpaper, artwork, cushions and a big old cheesy bed for when you're feeling a little feta-gued (we tried).
Coming from the team at Café Rouge, guests can expect a mouthwatering room service menu, featuring a few of their favourite French-inspired dishes and the mother of all cheeseboards. Not for the faint of heart (or lactose intolerant), you can apply to stay in this extra special suite for free by emailing your preferred check-in date to thecheesesuite@caferouge.co.uk.
It’s almost too gouda to believe.
The Cheese Suite will be open in Camden between the 31st of January and the 6th of February. Nine winners will be selected to stay with a friend for one night. Guests will also be treated to a complimentary meal at a Café Rouge of their choice. The room is free, although there will be the option to make a donation to The Princes Trust on check-out.
