hiding.
There are plenty of incredible hotspots across the city that serve cranberry-filled delights, turkey toasties and crumbling ciabattas that have to be added to your must-try list. Whether this is your first Christmas sandwich experience or you're a crumb connoisseur, here are the best Christmas sandwiches in London that aren't from Gails or Pret.

The New York Bar
If you're wanting a more regal place to engulf a delicious Christmas sandwich, then Rubens at the Palace is just the ticket. Their New York Bar is serving up a decadent delight that's packed with festive favourites, including succulent Norfolk turkey, pork and apple stuffing, cranberry mayonnaise and truffle Baron Bigod brie. You can enjoy this for just £26 for two, which is a bit of a bargain.
From the 1st of December, you'll also be able to enjoy your festive sarnie with a Christmas cocktail known as Santa's Sipper. This delightful concoction is a brandy, amaretto and apple juice infusion that's set to capture the essence of Christmas.
The Black Pig
If you're a sandwich fanatic, then you'll know about these guys. The Black Pig in Borough Market offer up a whole range of incredible ciabattas that are filled to the brim with iconic fillings including honey truffle, parma ham and mozzarella, to name a few. But more importantly, their Christmas sandwich, known as The Sleigher, is back with a bang this year.
The legendary sandwich is stuffed with smoked turkey, gravy mayo (don't knock it before you try it), spiced red cabbage, cheesy leek pancetta and of course, cranberry sauce. You'll definitely need a dozen napkins to get through it but it's totally worth the mess.
The Breakfast Club
You know them for their full English and secret bars (our lips are sealed), but this December you should know them for their festive beast: all the trimmings. The Breakfast Club have released three specials for the holidays and in the magical trio is a mouthwatering Christmas sandwich.
Costing £13, this tower of carbs is sure to fuel you through anything from 12 pubs to some impromptu carol singing. Thick white bread houses giant pigs in blankets, deep-fried oozing brie, crispy sage onions, fresh rocket, cranberry and HP sauce. A pot of gravy is, naturally, served on the side.
Limin Southbank
A festive alpine retreat has popped up on the Southbank and is serving a whole host of festive bites with a Caribbean twist. Limin Winter Lodge is the perfect place to go if you're wanting your Christmas sandwich with a side order of heat. The Croque Monsieur (£16) boasts a irresistible blend of ham, scotch bonnet and Christmas spice glaze all topped with a generous amount of mature cheddar cheese.
This place is full of apres-ski vibes with everything from fully lit Christmas trees to skis hung up across the walls. Enjoy one of their winter berry mojitos to wash down your sandwich and be sure to finish with the double cream wonder that is the crème de la crème - a blend of cream, rum nutmeg and cinnamon.
The Little Scarlett Door
Toasties are arguably elite sandwiches, but have you ever had a Christmas version? The Little Scarlett Door in Soho gives you the option to add three of their delicious Christmas toasties to their party packages for £4.50 a pop if you're wanting all the house party vibes. You can choose from Boxing Day Leftovers, which is a turkey, stuffing, cranberry and brie number, or the Triple Cheesy which boasts three different types of fromage.
There's also a hearty vegan version that filled with sundried tomatoes, vegan bacon, roast pepper and vegan applewood cheddar. With plenty of other Christmassy bits on the menu including mince pies, pigs in blankets and Chocolate Orange brownies, you'll feel as stuffed as a Turkey on your way home.
Secret Sandwich Shop
Does the perfect collab exist? Yes, it does. Secret Sandwich Shop in Notting Hill are teaming up with social media moguls, Sensational Sandwiches, to bring London the ultimate Christmas sandwich for just £9. From November, you'll be able to indulge in a sensational sandwich that combines a leg of lamb, whipped garlic feta, caramelised onions, rocket and sun-dried tomato mayonnaise.
The iconic sandwich shop situated above The Globe nightclub in Notting Hill is well known for its incredible menu. With everything from full English breakfast bites to a dreamy honey mustard chicken number, the founder Robie Uniacke is always providing fresh new flavours to try.
El Pollote
Hold onto your hats; another legendary collab has landed in London. Latino fried chicken restaurant, El Pollote in Soho and legendary sweet treat spot, Borough 22 Doughnuts, have teamed up to create the El Pavo Noel - a Christmas sandwich stuffed between a fluffy doughnut.
Sandwiched between a cranberry-glazed doughnut is crispy fried turkey breast, smoky bacon, cranberry filling and stuffing balls. Better yet, it's all completely 'gluten-free'. Would you try this sweet and savoury mash up? We certainly would.
Oranj
Shoreditch wine bar and restaurant, Oranj, has launched their brand-new Christmas sandwich - the 48-hour festive jambon brie-eurre. Stuffed between a freshly baked baguette, the sandwich is filled with brie, smoked ham leg, festive spices and cranberry-infused brown sauce.
This mouth-watering combination is just £9 from Oranj, and should definitely be paired with a French sparkling wine as an extra treat - 'tis the season after all.
Sticks'n'Sushi
This Christmas at Sticks'n'Sushi venues across London - in the likes of Shoreditch and Kingston - indulge in the festive flavours of the new Sticks'n'Santa menu with the Wagyu Sando, a luxurious twist on the classic sandwich. It features tender grilled wagyu beef from Kyushu, yuzu-koshu and pickled cucumber, all nestled between two slices of soft brioche.
Pair it with the Gingerbread Matcha Egg Nog, a warm, spiced delight that complements every bite with creamy richness, and get lost in the palate of winter.

Cafe and much-loved Kentish Town meet up spot, The Fields Beneath, is the perfect place to gather with friends for a coffee and a bite to eat. These guys source all their coffee from a friend in Costa Rica - so you know it's gonna be good.
They recently launched their vegan Christmas sandwich, which is an amalgamation of sage butter, two bubble and squeak patties, mulled cabbage, roasted kale, veggie crisps, gravy mayo and honey mustard 'bacon'. This one will even get meat-lovers begging for more.
Daffodil Mulligan
Located in the heart of Old Street, Daffodil Mulligan is the perfect place to go for some classic Irish hospitality. You can come here for a delicious Irish coffee or a Guinness, and even have a bite to eat from their internationally-inspired dining menu.
They're also serving up their turkey and sugar pit pork toastie this festive season, filled with pickled beetroot, Kelly Bronze turkey, melted cheese and a side of cranberry sauce for the perfect dunk. Better yet, it's only £13.50 a pop.
