2024's Most Unusual Christmas Festivities In London

Seven Dials Indoor Snow Globe

If you've been praying for a white Christmas, you could blame it on the weatherman - or instead of pointing the finger, you could head to Seven Dials Market. Until January 2025, the Covent Garden food hall is turning into an indoor snow globe five days a week. Head down there at 8.30pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays or at 4.30pm, 6.30pm or 8.30pm between Fridays and Sundays for guaranteed snowfall.

Brollies will be supplied and each snow session will have complimentary Telmont Champagne. In between marvelling at what might be one of the most bizarre things you can do in London, you can stuff your face with Christmas sandwiches with cauliflower cheese, Ferrero Rocher doughnuts and raclette hash browns.

Selfridges' Daily Confetti Spectacle

Christmas shopping is like Marmite. You either love it or you hate it. If you need convincing to lace up your boots and hit Oxford Street, we have some intel that might help.

Selfridges are hosting daily Confetti Spectacles which take place on weekdays at 6pm and 4pm on weekends. In between picking up bits and bobs you'll see Whoville levels of enthusiasm with roaming life-sized dancing Christmas crackers, a very jolly Santa, DJs, singers, liver performances and a huge confetti explosion in the atrium.

The Dog And Bell Pub Christmas Decorations

You've seen all the Christmas light displays from Oxford Street to The Churchill Arms, but there's one place that might have slipped by the wayside. The Dog and Bell Pub is dressed to the nines in festive decor, doused in everything from fairy lights to Christmas trees.

They've got a festive menu with plenty of delicious bites to choose from, which can all be washed down with a cold pint. And if you're wanting this Deptford haunt on your radar, then be sure to keep an eye out for their Pickle Fest.

Natural History Museum's T-Rex

Santa Claws is coming to town. Probably the rarest Christmas sight in all of London, the Natural History Museum has dolled up its iconic animatronic dinosaur in a giant, festive red jumper yet again, proving you're never too old to get into the X-mas spirit.

You can even purchase sustainable, human-sized versions of the Christmas jumper from the museum store or online. PS: Don't miss his not-so-little Santa hat; it really brings his eyes out.

Miracle at Henrietta Cocktail Bar

Dubbed the 'Christmassiest bar in London', Miracle at Henrietta is outrageously festive, in the best way possible. Decked in an army of tacky ornaments, colourful lights and kitschy decor, if you're not in a more-than-merry spirit yet, you NEED to head down to this OTT Covent Garden haunt for a night of raucous fun and Christmas cheer.

Don't miss out on the yuletide concoctions; you can transport back to Chrimbo's past from 11th November to 23rd December and sip on whacky cocktails like Christmapolitan, made up of vodka, elderflower, dry vermouth, spiced cranberry sauce and an absinthe mist.
