He's turned out for some of the world's most famous football clubs, played a leading role as an Olympic Games Ambassador, and even made a guest appearance in Only Fools & Horses; but if you thought David Beckham was content to stop there, you'd be mistaken. Diageo have linked up with the England legend to spearhead the launch of their brand new Haig Club single grain scotch whisky, that will be in the shops later this year.
Beckham will play a key role in developing Diageo's marketing strategy, as the company aim to take their "hugely versatile" new spirit around the world, attracting the interests of both seasoned whisky veterans and those who have never had a drop in their life. In true David Beckham style, the drink will ditch conventional methods and hit the shelves packaged in the style of an after shave bottle.
Not only will the 38-year old play a crucial role in the brand's marketing, he'll also be the central figure behind Diageo's responsible drinking programme too. Is there anything the man can't do?
