Apparently, Great Britain is good at a few things: getting itself in a squabble with the EU parliament, Yorkshire puddings, tea and curling in the Olympics. I don't know all that much about curling, and the majority of the UK probably only relates to it in those 'tense' TV moments at the Winter Olympics, but there just so happens to be a new pop-up in the city keen with curling appreciation.
Taking to Roof East this winter and opening on November 3rd, Sliders is giving London's its first ever rooftop curling club, and that's pretty cool. Geddit. Hailed as 'bowling's weird winter cousin', and brought to East London by the team behind Rooftop Film Club, Sliders will not only entice guests with a Curling Lane Lodge for hot toddies and flame heaters and karaoke cabins courtesy of Lucky Voice, there's street food from the likes of Cachina and Rockadollar Dogs, a heated cocktail bar for 'Curl Power Punch' and of course, curling lanes aplenty. The next drive in London's bid to keep its pop-ups strictly off the wall? We'd say so.
Sliders can be found at Stratford's Roof East from 3rd November – 23rd December. 40 minute slots at Sliders come in at £12.50 pp (minimum four people).
