I think I've seen people reading books in bars. In fact, I'm sure it happens, but it's about to happen a lot more often with The Bloomsbury Club Bar in tow this March. Celebrating World Book Day alongside 100 other countries around the world, The Bloomsbury Club Bar's Brian Calleja has not only curated five bespoke, literary themed cocktails, the bar isn't asking for your hard earned pennies and pounds, they want the contents of your bookshelf instead.
Dusting off those pages, take a book down to The Bloomsbury Club Bar on March 2nd where you can not only exchange it for a cocktail, each book will then be sold to over second-hand book shop, Skoob Books, with the proceeds being then donated to Great Ormond Street Hospital. Those able to get over their Herman Mellville habit, loosen that Stephen King craving and cut-out their Dostoyevsky dependency can enjoy cocktails the likes of the following:
- Hemingway Daiquiri: Havana 3yr, Grapefruit Juice, Lime Juice and Luxardo Maraschino.
- Absinthe: Classic Serve – Absinthe, Cold Water, Sugar Cube.
- Whiskey Sours: Chivas Regal 12yr, Lemon Juice, Gomme, Egg White, Angostura Bitters, Orange Bitters
Join The Bloomsbury Club Bar in Soho this March 2nd to exchange your books for a selection of literary themed cocktails. The menu will be available from 4pm til late.
