Wanna save the bees? Well now is your chance as the Southbank restaurant Florentine is championing urban beekeeping with a bespoke honey-based set menu.
Courtesy of the restaurant and bar’s very own worker bees, the month-long special is sure to cause a buzz with ingredients coming hot off the permanent rooftop residency that houses over 150,000 honey bees. Dishes will include smoked burrata with roasted beetroot and parsnips drizzled with honey and rosemary dressing, honey and soy glazed roasted duck breast with sautéed girolles, and a dessert of crunchy honeycomb panna cotta topped with fresh blackberries.
Should you choose to indulge in all three sweet treats, you can sip on a specially-created Madame Bee cocktail, made up of gin, honey-infused water, fresh lime juice, lemon juice and rosemary before topped with Chapel Down Brut. With 10% of each menu item going to Bee Friendly Trust, you’ll want to give yourself a hive-five by the end of your experience.
Have to bee a part of it all? Visit Florentine this October and munch on the set menu of three courses and a cocktail for £36pp. The restaurant can be found at 6 Hercules Road, London SE1 7DU and is open Monday - Friday 11:30am to 10:30pm, Saturday 10.00am to 10:30pm and Sunday 10.00am to 10:00pm.
