If you're not in the mood to splash the cash this New Year's Eve then we've got it all covered with our list of the top ten free New Year's Eve events. From fireworks over the River Thames to a free party at the Big Chill Bar, there's plenty of choice when it comes to free NYE parties.
Often seen as one of the most expensive nights of the year, NYE usually comes with a hefty price tag, but if you know all the best and free clubs, bars and events to visit it doesn't necessarily have to break the bank.

2) New Year's Eve @ Black and Blue Mortimer Street
NYE Celebrations at Mortimer Street
Known for its amazing steaks and cocktails, Black and Blue will be holding their free New Year's Eve event with their House DJ playing various music, including chilled and pop until 1am and of course a midnight countdown.

3) The Mayor's New Years Eve Fireworks @ The River Thames
New Years Eve in Southwark, London
The Mayor’s midnight fireworks display by the Thames attracts around 250,000 people on average, with viewing areas filling up around 2-3 hours in advance, so arrive early. The fireworks will begin as soon as the Big Ben strikes midnight, and an exclusive live DJ set from Radio 1’s Nihal will keep the crowds entertained pre and post the pyrotechnics, starting at 10pm. 4) The Coundown New Year's Eve Bash 2011 @ The Shoreditch (click for venue info)

Duke of Edinburgh in Brixton is a classic London pub nicely hidden just off the Brixton party trail. Get your best festive hats out on the 31st of December for the Duke of Edinburgh's Hat Party in Brixton. With DJs like Neil 'Nail' Toliday and Adam Billingham, tons of surprises and treats, and open until 6am, this will be one of the best NYE parties in London.
