From the 20th September, the legendary Hotel Café Royal will pay homage to one of its most famous patrons, David Bowie. 45 years since the late rockstar threw a party at the London hotel to retire his alter-ego, Ziggy Stardust, visitors will now be able to relive the star-studded occasion and immerse themselves in the world of glam rock at Ziggy's.
Guests can drink like Lou Reed, Barbra Streisand, Mick Jagger and all of Bowie’s guests from the legendary get-together by sipping on the singer’s favourite drinks and cocktails inspired by his life and 1972 album, The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars. With cocktails named after lyrics such as Darkness and Disgrace from 'Lady Stardust' and Tigers on Vaseline from 'Hang On To Yourself', as well as those that pay homage to Bowie's evolving personas such as the Animal Grace and the Femme Fatale.
Ziggy’s will be decorated with both iconic and unseen images of the late singer by the renowned Mick Rock, Bowie’s personal photographer for a number of years, in collaboration with London gallery Beautiful Crime.
The Hotel Café Royal has been a celebrity favourite for a number of years, with the likes of Oscar Wilde, Virginia Woolfe and Winston Churchill all patrons of the London staple before Bowie held what he named The Last Supper on the 3rd July 1973.
Ziggy’s will launch on the 20th September, Monday - Saturday, 5pm - 1am at the Hotel Café Royal, 10 Air Street, W1B 4DY.
