Breton shirt? Check. Ill-fitting beret? Check. Dodgy French accent? Check. You are officially ready to join A Place In Time’s latest themed supper club, inspired by 1940s France. Taking place in a secret London Bridge location, Shh! Maman Le Mot is a night of French resistance themed fun - think ‘Allo ‘Allo mixed with Inglourious Basterds, minus the blowing things up and mindless violence.
Guests are expected to take on the role of a top secret agent; yes, that does mean you have to maintain a stereotypical French accent throughout the evening in order cavort with the enemy. Before dinner, the supper club will organise various activities, advertised on their website as moustaches and exploding meringues, always the sign of a good evening in our opinion.
Dinner is served in a Moulin Rouge inspired Parisian bistro and is three courses of French classics such as Coq au Vin and Tarte Citron, all accompanied by French wine and infiltrators mingling with the crowd, these are tense times after all people.
Should you survive the various uncovering attempts and complete your mission, the night will finish with a good dose of old fashioned swing dancing; it all sounds very silly and very fun.
Shh! Maman Le Mot will run on Fridays and Saturdays until 17th December and tickets cost from £17.50 (dinner not included).
