The idea of a classic circus may seem like a thing of the past… until now. Created by the minds behind Bestival, Rob Da Bank and his wife Josie, The Travelling Circus is a festive escape that recreates the magic and wonder of days gone by.
Staking their claim as the world’s smallest festival, the pop-up experience will combine old and new elements of circus performance to create a totally unique immersive adventure. Tucked away within Mercato Metropolitano, the hideaway will host the Circus Raj and his troupe, including the cross-dressing ballerina Madame Galiana, a plethora of DJs and live music, and plenty more to be unveiled...
The escapist space will also welcome a selection of handpicked food vendors from across the city, along with a bar that’s sure to quench your thirst while you soak up all the action. Topping it off, The Travelling Circus have transformed the Carousel Room into a mismatched big top tent with quirky decor of old fashioned chandeliers, bunting and salvaged seating, making for some seriously enviable Instagram content.
The Travelling Circus takes place in the Carousel Room of Mercato Metropolitano 42, Newington Causeway, SE1 6DR. General Admission is £20 and seating is first come first served, the bar is open Thursday - Saturday 6pm to 11pm. Tickets can be bought here.
