Priding themselves as an exclusively vegan bao store with locations in both Soho and Leeds, Vao are here to deliver plant-based classics like Korean fried 'chckn' and crispy 'fysh' with jalapeño ponzu. If you’re lucky enough to live closer enough to their Soho store for delivery then you’ll be happy to hear they also offer dry pasta and tinned beans for you to make your own Kbox at home. Cakes. Doughnuts. Brownies. The holy trinity of desserts take physical form in the kitchen of Rubys. Not only do they have boxes of doughnuts starting from £12.99 for a dozen, they also do delectable brownies in flavours like lavender or raspberry and dark chocolate mallow. If you or someone you know is celebrating a birthday in their home then rest assured that they do show-stopping cakes, complete with additional sparklers and unicorn toppers to make any birthday special.
Crosstown, all of London
Winning awards for some of the best vegan doughnuts of London, it’s no wonder that Crosstown have made it onto this list. Look out for classics like peanut butter jelly and the incredible apple pie doughnut - as well as the star of the show: a vegan blood orange made from beetroot dough and sprinkled with pistachio crumbs. Although Crosstown also make non-vegan options, if their Marylebone store is your local, no need to fret, as this store is entirely vegan.
Twisted London, Bethnal Green
Masters of vegan chicken, Twisted London’s website alone is enough to make anyone crave one of their burgers. Their signature ‘KVC’ burger packs a punch with panko crumbed vegan ‘chicken’, a whip of vegan cheese and lashings of guac - topped off with chilli jam to seal the deal. If your plant-based preferences consist more of a more daring palate, the Hot Vegan Burger might be more your speed with its Twisted slaw and hot chilli buffalo sauce to boot. Top off your meal with some dirty vegan fries, sprinkled with ‘chicken’ nuggets and BBQ sauce.
Mother, Hackney Wick
If you’re in East London, you’ve got a new ‘mother’ to take care of you. Expect cold-pressed juices straight out of mother nature’s kitchen, along with hearty all-day breakfast options like loaded acai bowls. Although the above options sound like the ultimate start to the day, Mother are known for their legendary granola - complete with all the trimmings: think goji berries, date syrup and organic nuts.
