Here we go again... is probably what Björn Ulvæus is thinking right now as the former ABBA star is said to be working on plans to launch a second Mamma Mia!-themed restaurant, this time on the sunny shores of the Thames. Following the success of the project in Stockholm, Ulvæus has set his sights on London for the next branch of Mamma Mia! The Party, and has provisionally found a home in, you guessed it, Waterloo - just a short walk from the Southbank Centre where the current ABBA Experience exhibition is taking place.
The Greek-inspired Nikos' Taverna will seat 520 customers, and serve up a stunning feast of Mediterranean food and drink, evoking the holiday atmosphere all year round, and that's not even the best part. Guests will be treated to a night of immersive live-action performances from the movie and musical, with singing, dancing and feats of acrobatics.
So whether you're a fan of the stage musical, the film or, like some of us, maintain a general enthusiasm for anything ABBA does, have done and will ever do, this fun-filled dining experience will no doubt be worth the wait.
The full details of Mamma Mia! The Party have yet to be announced but you can sign up on their website for further information.
