Those Italian stallions behind the street food concept Forza Win are back and offering a taste of what can only be described as "the bet meatballs in town" ... and this time, they ain't mammas. Well Marco, a picture is worth a thousand words, but we only need one. YUM. Bring on the meatball madness.
Going underground Waterloo station and shackin' up The Vaults, Marco's Meatballs is a slice of 1980s inspired Italiano retro where the walls are adorned with vintage black and white portraits of la famiglia and the tables are dressed with traditional chequered table clothes. Marco's pop-up eatery will be a set of rich red curtains and low lit tables; warm, cosy and the perfect breeding ground for Italiano delicacies like those glorious meatballs. The cobbled streets and dark gittys of Sicily set the scene for this space reminiscent of seedy Mafia meetings that take place in little bistros under low ceilings and by flickering candlelight like something out of The Godfather.
There'll be more than just food to fill your guts with at this pop-up. Word on the street is there'll be theatre ... and maybe even murder? Some sort of Mafia conspiracy? Who knows, all we want is the meatballs. BRING THEM TO US.
Marco's Meatballs Pop-Up will open Weds 28th Jan until Sun 8th March. Each sitting lasts an hour in 3 time slots: 6.45-7.45pm, 8.30-9.30pm & 10.15-11.15pm.
