La Lluna
The only Spanish restaurant in the area, La Lluna is a charming, rustic location that specialises in both traditional and modern tapas. A top choice of Muswell Hill Broadway restaurants, you can expect exposed brick walls, colourful artwork and a welcoming courtyard area here.
Their menu includes classic dishes like patatas bravas and roasted pork, as well as a range of breakfast plates and churros for dessert. And if you fancy a little entertainment with your meal, then check out their regular lineup of flamenco events too. The cocktails are pretty special too - we recommend the Muswell Berries.
Bob's Cafe
A buzzing all-day bistro with pretty interiors, Bob's Cafe is a great shout for any occasion. The relaxed space is filled with white brick walls, wooden beam ceilings and an array of plants, perfect for relaxing with friends and family - and you can even bring your dog along.
They're cooking up some killer brunch plates like shakshouka, buttermilk pancake stacks and full English breakfasts, or swing by a little later for everything from chilli bowls to katsu curry. What's more, they offer gluten-free options here too.
Toff's
An award-winning fish and chip shop on Muswell Hill Broadway, Toff's is a must-visit when you're in North London. They've been around since 1988, though there was another business at the same location from 1968, and were voted the best fish and chip shop in the UK shortly after, with many more accolades coming their way since then.
As part of the Good Catch Initiative, they're all about sustainable, top-quality fish paired with British potatoes, with dishes ranging from classic cod and chips to scampi or Dover sole. As for the interiors, think simple wooden tables and walls lined with black and white photos, with the option to eat in or takeaway.
La Porchetta
One of the best Italian restaurants in Muswell Hill, La Porchetta is a friendly family-owned destination that's been around since 1995. The relaxed venue is all about high quality cooking at an affordable price, making it a favourite among locals.
They offer a number of tasty pasta dishes such as penne alla vodka or gnocchi with gorgonzola, and an extensive pizza menu too. Enjoy toppings like four cheese, grilled aubergines or air-cured beef, and you can make any of their vegetarian pizzas vegan for just Ā£1 extra with plant-based cheese.
Cilicia
Named after one of the crossroads of ancient civilizations along the Mediterranean coast, Cilicia is an elegant yet relaxed restaurant that focuses on fresh, satisfying food. The owner of this independent restaurant is responsible for the whole process - from buying the ingredients right through to cooking the dishes, so you can count on a personal touch with every meal.
They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner in their colourful venue, with an extensive menu that features the likes of marinated lamb cutlets, stuffed peppers and calamari.
Midori
Serving the area since 2012, Midori is a neighbourhood favourite serving up delicious Japanese and Korean eats. Their mission is to nourish the body, mind and spirit through a hearty menu and a homely venue - decked out in exposed brick walls, wooden tables and Asian-inspired artwork.
There's all sorts of scrumptious bites to choose from here too - ranging from sushi platters and ramen to bento boxes and donburi bowls.
Korto
After Muswell Hill restaurants open for breakfast and lunch? Then head to Korto, the neighbourhood hotspot close to Alexandra Palace that's open from 9am until 3pm every day. Two friends Paul and Russell opened this spot in 2018, thanks to their joint passion for great customer service and fresh, delicious food - as well as excellent coffee and an impeccable wine list.
Take a seat in their simple, welcoming interiors or on the pretty outdoor terrace to munch on harissa chicken BLT sandwiches, steak and eggs or halloumi burgers, as well as classic brunch options.
Lunablu
If you're on the hunt for great quality pizza, Lunablu is definitely the place to be. Watch as the chefs cook up wood-fired dough in the open kitchen, while you kick back in their lively, modern interiors.
Their authentic Neapolitan pizzas are topped with everything from Spanish chorizo to gorgonzola and even roasted potatoes, and you can pair them with one of the many different Italian wines on offer.
Fasta
If you want pasta, and you want it fast, Fasta is the place for you. This contemporary restaurant is bound to catch your eye thanks to its bold yellow canopy, and if you head inside you'll find an intimate space filled with simple wooden tables and the aroma of fresh Italian cooking.
Pick from delicious sauces like arrabiatta, alfredo or pesto on a pasta shape of your choosing on their customisable menu, or sample one of their falafel and hummus boxes instead. And on a summer's day, why not enjoy your meal on their streetside tables?
