Watch out Stokey, there’s a new pink cocktail bar in town... and it’s giving us some major Pretty In Pink meets 1920s speakeasy vibes. Named after the feminine form of ‘Don’, Doña is a gorgeous new basement bar championing female-led entertainment and looking damn fine while doing it. Nestled along Stoke Newington high street, the cocktail spot is kitted out with velvet seating, sultry decorative lights and a crimson-hued colour scheme. Alongside a menu of unusual concoctions, the venue will also host a nightly rota of live music, showcasing a range of women performers, as well as up-and-coming male acts.
Created by mezcal pros Thea Cumming, co-founder of London Mezcal Week and originator of Dangerous Don, and Lucie Massey, the brains behind Cuppa Gumbo and Slap Ya Papa, Doña is also hoping to show the Mexican spirit in a new light. Serving up a selection of agave-based tipples, cocktails include the Fiorella - a combination of mezcal, ginger, Supasawa, agave, lime wheel and coffee beans - and the Doña - a potent mix of mezcal, Martini Ambrato and Campari. They also have a range of beer, wine and spirits.
Doña is located on 92 Stoke Newington High Street, N16 7NY. The pop-up will be running until 21st December from Wednesday-Saturday, open from 6pm-11:45pm.
