Calling all cowardly lions, tin men, scarecrows and Dorothys, one of Shoreditch's hottest rooftops has just announced their winter theme and it's going to be a wonder. Follow the yellow brick road to The Queen of Hoxton as they turn their sky-high bar into the Emerald City for winter 2019, complete with a giant wigwam, emerald garden, and bejewelled walls. The bar - known for its seasonal switch up - will also extend The Wizard of Oz theme to the food and drinks, with the likes of hot and cold green cocktails, and marshmallows to be roasted on the fire pit.
Previous years have seen the venue host female Mexican wrestling, cooking lessons and Moulin Rouge-inspired drag artists, and 2019's event schedule looks just as interesting. There's a distinctly magical theme running throughout as a coven is set up, and witch academy lessons, feminist story telling and Wicca craft classes are all held. Taking place alongside, there's a series of environmentally friendly parties planned, including a big green clothes swap and a pickling workshop.
