The latest festive pop-up to hit South London? This Alpine retreat is too good to be kept under wraps. Introducing The Raclette Bar at the Secret Winter Garden
Kicking off this November and featuring brand new igloos for the first time, Balham’s forest hideaway The Regent is the perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. Curd nerds The Raclette Bar are serving up a comforting winter menu under a fully heated, enclosed canopy that’s dotted with twinkling lights and surrounded by ivy, red berries and winter trees. You’ll be able to sip on ice-cold beer from Camden Town Brewery or opt for a steamy mulled cocktail.
But we need feeding, and you get more bang for your buck with the aforementioned set menu. To start, the classic cheese board has been pimped up winter-style; think rustic baked camembert, raclette croquettes, blue cheese endives and smoked sausage with Dijon. Herbivores, listen up as there’s also grilled Padron peppers for you. As for the main event, get ready to chow down on bubbling raclette melted on your very own grill, alongside Alpine meats or roasted Mediterranean veggies. Still not full? Well, the sides are all bottomless, including pickles, rosemary fries, buttery potatoes and fresh green salad. All this for just £27 per person.
Cheesy après ski? Yes, please.
The Raclette Bar is popping up at The Regent in Balham until Friday 24th Dec 2021. Book your spot here.
