Good Godfreys proudly takes its name from the former leader of the Waldorf House band, the handsome and talented Howard Godfrey. Howard Godfrey and the Waldorfians enjoyed huge success in the early 1920s as serious players on the London Social scene, boasting hit records and popular acclaim; the Best Show in Town. We are proud of our opulent past and it has inspired us throughout the creation of the new bar.
Bold cocktail concoctions will be available with a variety of food plates to complement them. Our signature cocktails include The Astor Hip Flask named after William Waldorf Astor, the owner of the Waldorf Astoria in NY, inspired by the soubriquet of Madam Geneva for the badly made gin available during the gin craze of Georgian London, The Hot Gin Punch served in a teapot and the Waldorf-tini; a Martini garnished with edible gold.
