After igniting the city’s love for live fire cooking, temper has turned their attention to another of London’s current obsessions: smashburgers. These American-style buns really are having a moment (looking at you Supernova), and it’s only fitting that the brand behind the iconic cheeseburger taco should show us how it’s really done. Introducing temper Burger, opening in White City on the 17th of April.
Like temper’s award-winning barbecue restaurants, which you can find in Shoreditch, City, Soho and more, all their meat (such as the rare breed, high-welfare beef) will be sourced from a long-running family of North Yorkshire farmers, Charles Ashbridge. They then butcher everything in-house with a whole animal, no waste ethos.
Now, get ready to drool. The menu offers a delicious lineup of burgers, including the self-titled temper smashburger (£12). This features two aged beef smashed patties nestled in a brioche bun, complete with chillies, red onions, tomato, lettuce, sauces and, the piece de resistance – smoked raclette cheese. And if that sounded good, wait until you hear about the sides: beef-fat potatoes (£8) elevated with thyme, garlic and raclette cheese, as well as burnt hispi cabbage (£7) and crispy pork belly bites (£6).
Oh, and did we mention they’re giving away 100 free burgers every day for lunch from the 22nd to the 26th of April? Get in.
temper Burger opens on the 17th of April at Unit 8, 2, Television Centre, 101 Wood Lane, W12 7FR. Stay up to date with the latest openings by signing up to our London newsletter.
