London Underground managing director, Mike Brown, and Mayor Boris Johnson, have confirmed that as of 2015 five major tube lines - the Piccadilly, Jubilee, Victoria and parts of Northern - will have a 24-hour weekend service. This news came as Transport For London announced the closure of all ticket offices across London underground stations, the idea being to have staff become more useful and accessible to passengers by being placed on platforms. Problem is, this change will result in up to 750 job cuts! The Transport Unions are are not happy at all... but we kind of are, because it means you can visit all your favourite bars without the fear of the dreaded night bus!
The Mayor claims "this will not just boost jobs and our vibrant night-time economy, it will further cement London's reputation as the best city on the planet in which to live, work, visit and invest." DesignMyNight agree with you Boris, VIVA LONDON!
