We’ve heard the term boutique hotel... but super boutique? Apparently this is the next-gen of luxury overnight stays, and a world-first that’s landing in London. Along with it, The Londoner is bringing Leicester Square a slick new rooftop bar.
Perfectly perched on Whitcomb Street, 8 at The Londoner is a contemporary lounge bar. Featuring an open-air fire pit and some pretty amazing views of the city, the sky-high venture will serve modern Japanese cuisine utilising traditional ingredients and innovative cooking techniques from former Nobu chef, Kuenhi Won. Dishes include robata grilled meat, fish and vegetables, and a moriawase section with tartare, sashimi and sushi rolls. To pair with your dining, the drinks list will boast technical concoctions that perfectly complement the menu. Fancy some alfresco action? Head outside and you'll find the Shima Garden, which offers retractable skylights and awe-inspiring views to enjoy while tucking into small plates such as lobster gyoza tacos.
The 350-room, 16-storey hotel will also boast a ground floor Mediterranean restaurant called Whitcomb’s, the quirky neighbourhood bar Joshua’s Tavern and The Stage, which channels a sense of old school glamour into avant-garde dining and entertainment. There will also be not one, but two Odeon cinemas. If that’s not enough, there’s a spa, swimming pool, gym, beauty salon and a barber, perfect for getting all glammed-up before attending one of Leicester Square’s famous movie premiers.
