While they might be famed for their menu of quality steaks and epic Sunday roasts, Hawksmoor also counts slick cocktails under its arsenal... and their Canary Wharf venue is one to watch. When it opened this time last year, the floating restaurant was the talk of the town. But you may have missed the bar below. Hidden beneath the restaurant, The Lowback is all sorts of luxe. Think beautiful interiors that feel moody as the sun goes down, glimmering with statement lighting and the warm glow of the bar.
From intimate dates to raucous group nights out, the menu can cater to all. Sure, there's the signature dry-aged steaks that you'll find upstairs at big bro Hawksmoor, but also smaller plates in for the form of hefty langoustine scampi, crispy salt beef nuggets and charcoal-roasted oysters topped with moreish bone marrow.
Cocktails don't skimp either, with a list so good we can't believe it's not won any awards yet. There's a whole section dedicated to martinis (the pickled onion-led Pink Gibson is a must), Champagne cocktails and - my personal favourite - the Double Melon Daiquiri; juicy and round, with a dash of sour watermelon to round things off.
Just when you thought we were done revealing all our secrets? We can't forget the happy hour which sees selected cocktails priced at just £7 from 4pm to 7pm between Tuesday and Saturday.
