Jimmy’s Alpine Lodge
King of the pop-up Jimmy Garcia is here to get you winter ready with his Alpine lodge, and what alpine lodge would be complete without a cauldron of melted cheese? Served with a selection of artisan charcuterie, bread, potatoes and salad, it’s as cosy and carb-heavy as you’d hope for. Located on the heart of the Southbank with views over the Thames, the only sight better than the London panorama is the sight of a bubbling fondue pot.
St. Moritz
For over 40 years, this Soho restaurant has been London’s fondue king. Serving up traditional Swiss cuisine, this is probably the most authentic fondue in London, and they offer quite the selection. From a simple Fondue Neuchateloise with just crusty bread and a bubbling pot of the good stuff, to seasonal veg, wild mushrooms and beef cubes, St. Moritz’s fondue is something special whatever you’re dipping in it.
The Lodge at Roof East
Sister pop-up to Southbank’s Alpine Lodge, this rooftop winter wonderland next to Stratford station is East London’s best festive retreat. You can be sure that the bread will be crusty and the fondue creamy with Jimmy Garcia in charge. Alongside all the cheese there will be a starter of small sharing plates, and a Christmas-spiced creme brulee for dessert.

If you’re heading to West London this winter, take a moment to curl up on a fur-lined sofa and feast on fondue in Winterland’s enchanted forest. If you’re feeling particularly festive, book yourself and some friends into one of the cosy riverside Igloos. To burn off all that delicious dairy, there’s a whole host of activities to get involved with, including curling, mini golf and even Prosecco pong.
Walluc Bistrot
One of London’s best fondue hangouts, Walluc Bistrot is an East London gem. This family-run French restaurant on Redchurch Street is famed for its charming atmosphere and quirky decor, as it is for its fondues and raclette. Fondues can be served with meats, breads and vegetables, and they also make delicious French stews including Cassoulet and Boeuf Bourguignon, perfect fare for when the weather chills off.
The Cheese Bar
This winter, Camden cheese melting maestros, The Cheese Bar, will be offering a special fondue menu. Fondue will be available every Thursday evening throughout November and December. Perfect for date nights, mates nights and Christmas parties, the menu also includes mozzarella sticks and grilled Angloumi.
