It would seem that Harvest Festivals have changed a bit since your primary school days - screeching clarinet renditions of ‘All Things Bright And Beautiful’ and giant marrow competitions (oo-er) are out - to be replaced with Vagabond’s swanky urban take, complete with tank sampling sessions, a tasty bbq, and yes, free wine.
The End of Harvest Festival is taking place on Saturday the 19th of October in Vagabond’s Battersea-based Urban Winery and is set to be something of an autumnal extravaganza. Celebrating all things grape, this one-day event will offer ticket-holders the chance to learn more about English wines, sampling a selection of the bar’s best-loved sips, with the bonus prize of a glass of wine-shaped thank you for those who remember to bring along a tin of food.
And for when you’re not knocking back carefully sipping on the good stuff? You can fill your boots with a delicious BBQ, live music courtesy of Dat Brass and a whole host of entertainment to keep the little ones busy.
It might even be better than an afternoon off school.
Vagabond's End of Harvest festival takes place on Saturday the 19th of October from midday at the Urban Winery (Unit 12, Battersea Power Sation, Circus Road, SW11 8EZ). Get your free tickets here.
