Tensions are rising between the USA and North Korea, we are seemingly on the brink of world war, and who knows what's going to happen at the general election - but if there's one thing to unite us all, it's the news that World Gin Day is returning for its ninth year on 10th June 2017. Created in 2009 by blogger Neil Houston, the day has since been taken over by popular London-based blogger and all-round connoisseur Emma Stokes, aka Gin Monkey.
With the aim of uniting the entire world over a G&T, cocktail or a straight-up shot, World Gin Day always takes place on the second Saturday of June as gin drinkers around the world raise a glass. Expect events up and down the country, from pop-ups with our favourite brands on London rooftops through to entire gin festivals in Glasgow. While much of the line-up is still to be announced, World Gin Day 2016 saw bespoke cocktail menus, cheese pairing events and the chance to mix your own blends. It may have ruined plenty of mothers, but it looks like gin is here to save us all.
World Gin Day will take place on 10th June 2017, keep your eyes peeled for dedicated events and menus.
