Description
Nestled a stone's throw away from the hustle and bustle of Piccadilly you'll find the legendary Scotch of St James.
Tucked away in Mason's Yard, a little square known to passers by as a cultural hub with its neighbouring art galleries and exhibitions spaces, you'll find an intimate 60s inspired 2 floor night club. Which back in the day was home to some of the most famous rock n roll royalty, Scotch saw the likes of The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, The Who and many more go through the rustic black wooden door which to this day, still remains. Legend has it, that it was also the backdrop for John Lennon and Yoko Ono's first encounter. Scotch can also claim rights to an exclusive first performance of a young gentleman known as Jimi Hendrix, who on his first visit to the club decided to plug himself into the sound system and deliver an impromptu performance!
Today, you'll find all different crowds of people crossing the cobble stoned floor to make their way to this hidden gem to mingle and rub shoulders with fashion icons, modern music artists, influencers and you'll see the East London hip Shoreditch crowd rubbing shoulders with the elite of the West End.
Blessed with a late license of 5am 7 days a week, the Scotch of St James is the go to venue for those wanting a post dinner drink, a pit stop before their final destination and the ability to party until the sun comes up. Boasting 2 floors, guests can determine what vibe they want, either throwing themselves in the midst of it all and dancing the night away in the basement club which is adorned with plush booth seating, an LED dancefloor and a retro disco mirror ball or remaining on the ground floor with easy access to the copper tone mirrored bar to have a catch up alongside some delicious cocktails. There is something for everyone.
Weekly club nights run Thursday-Saturday with DJs spinning the best of house and hip hop. Scotch is also available for exclusive hire, catering for a range of events such as milestone birthdays, engagement parties, corporate away days, fashion range launches and more. Contact the team, to see why this is one of London's longest standing late night establishments!

The Event SpaceSet across two floors, The Scotch of St James is still reminiscent of the original sixties hangout, perfectly capturing its colourful Rock ‘n’ Roll past whilst setting the club at the forefront of London’s exclusive social scene. A recent refurbishment adds animal and plant print design elements, sumptuous gold velvet lounge seating and splashes of intense colour to the original décor, giving a somewhat colonial feel to the relaxed, speakeasy space. Upon descending the staircase into the basement you will find the legendary live nightclub where guests are met with lavish seating around private tables and booths all overlooking the historical dance floor, DJ and stage area with an incredible sound system set up for all audio requirements. The upper level boasts a well stocked, attractively lit copper bar with an adjacent room that can be kept open plan, or made private to suit. The Scotch of St James can accommodate a range of private events; from intimate seated dinners, to private celebrations, corporate events to art exhibitions, product launches and fashion shows. Both floors can be adapted to meet specific event requirements, with options for private screenings, photo shoots, dry hire, Christmas events, Media / TV locations, product launches, group meetings, pre/post dinner events, live music showcase, team building events and pop ups. Regardless of the event type the Scotch of St James team can assist with all elements of the planning process and have our little black book of London’s hottest and hippest suppliers at their disposal. |
