To celebrate the life of jazz icon Amy Winehouse and raise vital funds for the Amy Winehouse Foundation, Zebra One Gallery will auction one-off artworks and photographs at The London Cabaret Club’s dazzling Bloomsbury Ballroom tribute to the music legend on March 10th.
The London Cabaret Club’s The Best of British Pop special, inspired by Amy, will feature renditions of her greatest hits performed by their award-winning cast and orchestra as well as artists from the foundation’s Amy’s Yard.
It will also include an auction of these extraordinary, one-off artworks by celebrated artists including Mason Storm, Dan Pearce, Dain, Dom Pattinson and Finn Stone.
All of the money raised from these one-off pieces will go to the charity, set up in Amy’s memory, to prevent the effects of drug and alcohol misuse in young people and to help them reach their full potential.
The evening forms part of The London Cabaret Club’s current spectacular, The Best of British Pop, which celebrates the last 60 years of the finest UK music icons including the unforgettable Amy.
The historic, Bloomsbury Ballroom landmark will also unveil a collection of beautiful images of the fresh-faced young star by acclaimed photographer, Phil Knott, taken in the early Noughties, as she took her first steps into the limelight. These will also be on sale, with 20% going to the foundation. Knott is behind the seminal images of a galaxy of music stars, from Prince and Liam Gallagher to Chris Martin and Justin Timberlake, but Amy stood out for him.
He explained: “When I unearthed this box of photos, after moving to LA, I was moved by how full of hope, beauty and shy innocence they were. This was the funny, healthy and remarkable Amy that I remembered, and captured in those early years.”
In addition 10% of all ticket sales will go to the Amy Winehouse Foundation.
