The David Adams Leukaemia Appeal Fund
The David Adams Leukemia Appeal Fund was set up in memory of the late David Adams, whose life was prolonged by The Royal Marsden Hospital for two years after his initial diagnosis of leukaemia. During this time, he raised many thousands of pounds for the hospital, and his efforts have since been continued by his family and friends, whom have now raised several million for cancer research. The Appeal has raised over £2M through voluntary activity with just one part-time administrator. The money raised has funded research posts, set up a Nurses’ Library, and co-funded a state-of-the-art haemato-oncology unit.
