The people who brought you BFM LTD, the Odds and Ends Club, Rumble, and the Mile High experience, are done with pop-ups. Well not quite, Shuttlecock Inc live and breathe pop-ups, but they just want a permanent home to put all of their amazing, scintillating, immersive experiences in. As such, they are taking over a three floor venue in Marlyebone and turning it into a fully fledged restaurant and event space called Carousel.
It isn't just fleeting novelty concepts here though, with amazing cuisine being crafted in their ground floor open plan kitchen by international chefs during month-long residencies. In the basement space or the light-filled upper floor, Londoners and companies will be able to put on private events, using the white walls and minimalist interiors as the ultimate blank canvas for their visions.
What we say:
Shuttlecock Inc make us truly excited about the future of London's nightlife. With kids like this on the block shaking things up with theatrical experiences, international chefs flying about the place and damn tasty drinks thrown in, there will always be an event in the pipeline to raise the bar of what we can expect from our Friday nights. Unluckily for this band of cousins though, this kind of track record of amazing experiential pop-ups has created great expectations for their first permanent venture Carousel. We love their world class cuisine, themed nights full of costume-clad in-character actors, and general mischevious attitude, but now we want it every night too.
Ollie, Will, Anna and Ed seem to have enthusiasm in the bucket-load though, and appear more than up to the challenge of kickstarting the London restaurant scene in the same way that they did pop-ups. Their restaurant is also currently being funded via kickstarter. We hope they meet their total by August so we can be there to see this exciting venue open its doors.
