The BFI Southbank has a fabulous portfolio of bars, a restaurant, private event spaces and cinema screenings.
Open from 12pm for lunch and dinner, the BFI Riverfront restaurant offers a range of cuisines. From stone-baked pizzas from gas-lit pizza oven, fresh salads to burgers. Comfort is at the heart of the menu at the Riverfront. They have a range of vegan and vegetarian options and can cater to most allergy requirements.
They are situated under Waterloo Bridge which offers fantastic views of the River Thames when dining on the terrace or relaxing on their Balcony Bar. The Riverfront offers a beautiful and unique view of the bridge that sets the scene for any social occasion.
Meet up with friends for one of their signature cocktails and enjoy in their bar area, or for morning coffee, soaking up the atmosphere that the Southbank can bring.
Their Balcony Bar offers an exclusive and special experience that is so rare to find in London; whether you want to reserve a table overlooking the bustling Southbank, or rent out the entire space for an event, they can work with you to make it a night to remember. The space is open from 4 pm on Thursdays - Saturdays and is also available for private hire.
Open from 4pm, The BFI Bar is just a stones throw from the Riverfront restaurant past the fabulous cinema screenings that The BFI has to offer. Enjoy a glass of fizz or pint of craft lager before or after your cinema experience or join them for an evening with your friends and family for drinks. The BFI Bar also has their secret drawing room, hidden behind a moveable bookcase for your private event or business meeting.

The BFI is a bit of a maze, with things to discover on all floors – cinemas, exhibitions, but bars too. Entering from the riverside, you’ll have to adventure yourself deep inside the building to find yourself in The Drawing room, a small and cosy cocktail bar attached to Benugo, where the library décor sees conversation and drinks flowing. It’s got a bit of that classic London vibe to it, so the menu’s got a welcome focus on bubbles and Martinis, with well-executed drinks with just a touch of inventiveness to surprise Southbank tourists and entice boozers. It’s really the atmosphere that makes this worth the visit though. Set a bit away from the BFI, it’s calmer and quieter, and the ceiling-high bookshelves filled with quirky old books and old-school posters on the walls make this perfect for Private events. From a sit-down dinner for up to 30 people to a drinks and canapes reception for up to 40 people, we got it all cover.
