The restaurant itself is inspired by Emily Wilding Davison, known as 'Pem' to her close family, a famous suffragette who championed the rights of women.

Promising homegrown produce and the best seasonal flavours, dishes here have an element of nostalgia and lean into new takes on British favourites. Benares Restaurant & Bar

Cigalon

Restaurant Story

Perched on Tooley Street, Restaurant Story is a culinary fairytale brought to life. A fine dining heavyweight, this two-Michelin-starred gem earned its first star just five months after opening.

Inside, it pairs its bold flavours with equally striking interiors. Dark walls, marble tabletops, and floor-to-ceiling windows create a space that feels both intimate and refined, while eye-catching artwork adds an extra touch of character. Every guest can embark on a nine-course tasting journey (£250 per person), a meticulously curated experience that showcases the team's exceptional craftsmanship featuring plats like brioche with beef extract. Vegetarians aren't left out either, with a dedicated plant-based menu available. 

Luca

At Luca, Italian cuisine gets a bold, British twist. The sister site to The Clove Club, this Farringdon gem takes top-notch ingredients from Morecambe, Yorkshire, and Scotland and transforms them into Italian dishes with a modern edge. Expect plates like taglierini with Mazara prawns, agnolotti cacio e pepe with morels, and Hereford beef ribeye with bone marrow, alongside a vermouth-heavy cocktail list and housemade limoncello and nocino.

The bar serves up lighter bites, while the restaurant's pasta-making room and gorgeous Garden Room (with a retractable roof) add to the magic. Helmed by Executive Chef Rob Chambers, whose love for Italian food was shaped by childhood memories of making tortelli with his aunt in Campania, Luca blends heritage, craft, and creativity. 

The Ledbury

The Ledbury is a culinary institution. Nestled in the heart of Notting Hill, this fine dining powerhouse was awarded its third Michelin star in 2024, cementing its place among the world's best. With an emphasis on seasonal British produce and boundary-pushing flavours, chef-owner Brett Graham has created something truly special - so special, in fact, that he even rears his own deer, Jersey cows, and Iberian pigs to ensure the highest quality ingredients.

Step inside, and you're met with textured walls, dark wooden furnishings, and earthy foliage cascading from the ceiling, creating a space that's equal parts sophisticated and serene. Head chef Tom Spenceley and his talented team deliver tasting menus starting from £200 per person, showcasing exquisite craftsmanship and top-tier produce. Expect dishes like Ike Jime chalk stream trout with raspberry, cherry blossom wasabi, and apple marigold, or veal sweetbread with Basque teardrop peas, vadouvan, and kaffir lime. 

The Ritz Restaurant

The iconic London hotel The Ritz is more than just a glamourous place to stay - past grand columns and sparkling chandeliers, you'll find the Michelin-starred restaurant that looks like a dining room out of a movie scene thanks to its opulent interiors. 

Executive chef John Williams MBE is at the forefront of creating seasonal British dishes that span breakfast, lunch and dinner. Beef is sourced from the Cornish moors and lamb from the Lake District so everything is sustainable and fresh; from the ballotine of duck liver with sour cherry and pistachio to the roast quail with verjus and hazelnut.  

Pied à Terre

Pied à Terre was established in 1991 under the guidance of David Moore and is still an impeccable Michelin-starred restaurant found in Fitzrovia to this day. Executive chef Phil Kearsey oversees the kitchen whipping up British plates with French roots, while the wine list is award-winning in itself.

On the menu, you'll find lunch and dinner tasting menus starting from £80 per person for four courses, up to £155 for eight, featuring the likes of smoked eel with Champagne, and a basil-infused white chocolate crémeux for dessert.

Evelyn's Table

Tucked away in the basement of The Blue Posts pub on Rupert Street, Evelyn's Table offers an intimate dining experience like no other. With just twelve seats and five courses, this Michelin-starred restaurant is a hidden gem in Soho. Head chef Seamus Sam, who's honed his craft at top spots like Restaurant StoryThe Clove Club and Muse by Tom Aikens, takes you on a culinary journey with innovative dishes using British Isles ingredients like Orkney scallops and Lake District beef, all expertly prepared with an experimental twist.

The atmosphere is cosy and personal, with two sittings per evening, where you can watch Seamus and his team at work at the counter. For the wine lovers, there's a sharp list featuring everything from classics to more adventurous choices in their Path Less Trodden selection, plus fun options like No & Low ABV and Half and Half pairings. 

 

The Clove Club

The lunch menu features six courses for £90, while dinner is an ever-changing ten-course seasonal tasting menu where each dish has its own origin story in a personal touch from the chef himself for £180 per person. Expect some delicious bread, lovingly cooked meats and inventive desserts. 

Core by Clare Smyth

The debut restaurant from the famous chef, Core By Clare Smyth is a female-led, three Michelin-starred eatery that champions sustainable producers in the heart of Notting Hill. Enter a delicate, natural dining room complete with neutral tones, soft furnishings and homely bookcases and devour seasonal plates from the award-winning chef.

You find the likes of Isle of Harris scallop tartare, lobster and spelt with caviar, and roasted cod with Morecambe Bay shrimps and Swiss chard in brown butter on the menu. 

Ikoyi

The Goring Dining Room

While the brand originated in Glasgow, these guys are known up and down the country for their pocket-friendly take on the tasting menu, so these restaurants are a top pick for something a little different.

Trivet

  • Where: 36 Snowsfields, SE1 3SU

Tucked away in Bermondsey is the casual yet elegant Trivet offering a delightful culinary experience. Its name stems from the old cooking utensil (an iron tripod that, over fire, supports cooking pots and kettles) and was chosen by founders Fat Duck alumni head chef Johnny Lake and sommelier Isa Bal to imply warmth and balance - exactly what this spot is all about.
