Lauded Mexican restaurant Santo Remedio is making its return to East London this September as it launches a second full-size venue in Shoreditch.
The friendly eatery from husband and wife team Edson and Natalie Diaz-Fuentes will be taking over a plot on Great Eastern Street to serve up some stunning mouthfuls inspired by Edson's childhood in Mexico City. The opening will sit just moments away from where the duo launched their very first venture in a tiny shop on Rivington Street in 2017 - the spot that first propelled them to neighbourhood food fame. While the original Santo Remedio Shoreditch was short-lived, the London Bridge location, which opened later that year, has continued to gain acclaim from restaurant critics and keen eaters around the country, and the Diaz-Fuentes' are hoping their latest EC1 space hits the same mark.
On the menu you'll find a slick lineup of mouthwatering sharing dishes and smaller snacking plates. For those looking to feast, you can tuck into barbacoa lamb shank and pickled onions or bone-in short rid served with mole negro Oaxaqueño. And if you're in the market for something lighter, a monthly rotation of tacos and tostados will be available to eat-in or grab-and-go from their colourful takeaway hatch.
And of course there will be a selection of refreshing cocktails available for thirsty diners and post-work drinkers, including margaritas, mezcal negronis and vermouth-laced sangria.
