With space-hopper relays around Hoxton Square, 80s aerobics classes and all-day Lego competitions, the Breakfast Club sure know how to throw a party. They’ll be bringing a hearty dose of 80s nostalgia to their network of cafes and bars this weekend to mark their 9th birthday; so dig out that lycra and dust off those hot pants, 'cause there’s a raucous retro party to be had.
Proceedings kick off on Thursday 18th, with each café laying on a banquet of 80s classics – we’re talking Chicken Kiev burgers and Black Forest pancakes – to help you get that weekend started right. You’ll swig on an official 80s cocktail while you’re at it, before the extravaganza of retro celebrations really gets into flow on Friday.
The Brekky Club reckon there ain’t no party like a Lego Competition party. Guests to their Soho and Angel branches will construct 80s icons using nothing but building blocks, with the top 10 designs walking away with a £50 voucher. Back yourself as a bit of a space hopper champion? Head over to Hoxton Square to prove it at the annual relay race, before finishing off in Spitalfields where a medley of classic 80s hits take over the speakers from 7pm.
The Breakfast Club's 80s Day gets into full swing on Friday 19th September. Visitors will be able to enjoy a choice of 80s dishes from Thursday 18th September through until Sunday.
