Venture above a renowned 17th century watering hole in the heart of Spitalfields, and you'll find the newest cocktail bar to hit the East London scene; Upstairs at the Ten Bells. The intimate space is dressed with reclaimed vintage furnishings, large cream lampshades and worn-out wallpaper meticulously assembled to create an on-trend shabby chic feel.
Refreshingly, they've also introduced a curated list of “shorty” cocktails all concocted with curious ingredients and a nice strong, fresh or sweet punch to each sip. These may be small in size but certainly not in taste. The unnamed cocktail list relies on its intriguing flavours to tempt your palettes; I highly recommend the Black Cardamom option from the ‘Strong’ range, and the beautifully crafted Birchwood ‘Late’ cocktail.
But don't just take my word for it; this cosy little gem is definitely worth a visit.
