Now, you might be mistaken in thinking that this was a tipple themed dedication to Seattle's very own rock and roll outfit Pearl Jam; and whilst we did come up with that clever little theory all on our very own, this happens to be a whole other whisky themed party in the city.
For those of you that don't happen to have the Scotch Malt Whisky Society's birthday on your calender, you may not have known that they're coming to to their 30th Pearl birthday this month and have aptly asked those pun-tastic oyster barons Mother Shucker for help with their party proceedings. Taking over 53 Monmouth Street in Seven Dials, the Scotch Malt Whisky Society and Mother Shucker are inviting folks along for a three day jaunt of oyster shucking and malt savouring this weekend.
Taking place from the 5th-8th of September, a set of master mixologists will be helping you discover a premium selection of single malt whiskies, whilst Mother Shucker will be teasing you with a selection of native and rock oysters; all in a bid to help you understand the different flavours, characteristics and varieties that are on offer from both parties. Learn something, eat something and drink something, sounds good no?
If you think you've got the gullet to take on this oyster and whisky themed challenge, head on down to Seven Dials this weekend and put that shucking talent to good use.
