They say that where there's smoke, there's fire. Well, they sure as hell had that right, as things are heating up over at Broadgate Ice Rink this winter. Not too hot though; the arrival of a charcoal and wood burning stove in the form of Bar BBQ on Ice offers a cool alternative to the traditional festive celebrations - step down from the ice rink and immerse yourself in the lavish lifestyle that is part and parcel with the summers day: BBQ, proper cocktails and a pint of your favourite craft beer.
Broadgate Ice Rink has brought all kinds of magic to Liverpool Street Station for the last four years; this time around, Bar BBQ On Ice is all set to warm things up a bit as they bring the flavours of smoke and fire, craft beers and great cocktails to the City of London. Serving up a menu of barbecued dishes inspired by their travels through Memphis, the guys over at Bar BBQ serve up a smokin' selection of burgers, dogs, steaks and pies alongside what they call 'proper cocktails'. Amen to that, brother.
Get your skates on and get down to Motown classics, as the house band perform a soundtrack that'll keep you far from the wintery realities that lie beyond this special slice of summer. Able to house 90 seated guests and 150 standing, the space is available for private hire up until closing.
Bar BBQ On Ice is open from 10am-11pm, seven days a week until 27th February 2014. Broadgate Ice Rink, Exchange Square, London, EC2A 2BO.
