If you're a red-blooded meat eater and you think you've tried everything there is on offer... think again. London's newest pop-up has everything a full on carnivore could ever wish for, meaty drinks, meaty food all set in a butcher's shop. Yes London, The Butcher Bar launches on the 20th August at classy Indian-themed cocktail bar Anise. This stylish Devonshire Square bar is usually renowned for its candlelit booths and discerning drinks, however for two months, Anise welcomes a bloody homage to everything meaty.
As you'd expect, the entire menu centres on meat. Anise have harnessed Executive Chef Vivek Singh's modern Indian game specialities and given them a bloody twist; the top meal to order is without a doubt 'The Butcher's Block' (£18pp), a sharing selection of beef, venison and grouse brought to the table on a traditional block. Served with a single cleaver, guests are invited to carve their own cuts and enjoy the thrill of being the butcher themselves. As well as this monolith, there are loads of other dishes on offer such as the Bloody Bhangra Burger (£12) and the Tandoori Grouse Nest Pizza (£14.40).
The drinks are also carrying a bloodythirsty kick with bar manager Ben Newton-Syms concocting five game-filled drinks. One of the big hitters on the menu is The Buffalo Butcher (£8.50), made from bacon-infused buffalo trace, mixed with fresh tomato, horseradish and garnished with a crispy pig's ear. We also recommend Deer Me (£9), made from grilled venison-infused Johnnie Walker, sloe gin, sweet vermouth and rosemary. If you're looking to try the latest wave of experimental cocktails touching down in London, the The Butcher Bar is a must.
The Butchery Bar is popping up at Anise from August 20th, so make a booking now!
