The Colonel Fawcett pub, in the back streets of Camden, has built up an incredible reputation since its inception (on the site of The Camden Arms est. 1845) in 2011. One of Camden's few independent free houses, we're proud to offer a great array of 19 beers on draft, over 100 gins and a fantastic…

Description
DESIREE BIRCH
Desiree Burch is a comedian, writer, actor, theatre-maker and NY-to-London transplant. Desiree has quickly and firmly established herself as one of the break out comic stars in the UK. She is the host and voice of Netflix's smash reality hit, 'Too Hot Too Handle' and recently hosted Live At The Apollo.
Since winning the 2015 Funny Women Award she has also appeared on Have I Got News For You, QI, 8 Out of 10 Cats, Frankie Boyle’s New World Order and co-hosted Netflix series, Flinch. Her recent Edinburgh hour, ‘Unfuckable’ was a sold out hit at The Edinburgh Fringe and went onto two fantastic, sold out runs at The Soho Theatre. She also travelled to Just For Laughs in Montreal and recorded a set for Kevin Hart’s LOL Network in 2018.
"The funniest comedian I have ever seen in person. She left me breathless with laughter." Scotsgay
“Desiree Burch is such a funny, frank, eloquent, entertaining and perceptive raconteur… positively poetic.” The Scotsman
“A larger than life New Yorker… who brought the roof down.” The Independent
“Desiree Burch has tremendous spunk and honesty." San Francisco Bay Times
SOOZ KEMPNER
Sooz did her very first stand-up gig in 2009. She thought, "what have I got to lose?". It turned out doing stand-up means you lose an awful lot of money. The upside was a reputation as one of the most creative stand-up/cabaret crossover acts, winning best newcomer at the Musical Comedy awards and the Variety Award at Funny Women. Since then she’s built up a formidable reputation as a cracking festival act mixing her Aguilera-esque vocals with deadly comic timing and brilliantly grubby stories from the seamier side of professional singing. She is also, if not the Queen of Twitter, then certain a very powerful minor royal on the platform, being a constant hive of invention and hilarity with her brilliant home-made sketches.
"Chutzpah by the bucketload." Fest
"An under-sung talent in top form." British Comedy Guide
ALEX KEALY
If Marcus Brigstocke ever manages to clone himself and then shed 25 years, he'd look and sound something like Alex Kealy. Erudite, eloquent and sharply funny, he's adept at finding jokes in intensely gnarly socio-political issues, as well as his own personal shortcomings.
“Very high on laughs. The gag-per-minute ratio for this show is impressive... clever and imaginative.” The List
“Enjoyable stage presence with shrewd comic chops.” Fest
NATHAN D'ARCY ROBERTS
Nathan D’Arcy Roberts is an award-winning writer and comedian. An exciting and authentic act with a distinct comedic voice, Nathan has been twice nominated for the BBC New Comedy Award, and in 2018 won the BBC’s prestigious Felix Dexter bursary.
Nathan has written several successful short films. His last was well-received by audiences all over the world, won Best Film at the 48-Hour Sci-Fi competition, and screened at the London Short Film Festival.
AND YOUR RESIDENT HOST:
BEN VAN DER VELDE
One of the quickest wits around and a much-loved compere, he always brings a jam-packed back of nonsense, silliness and wisecracks to every gig he hosts.
"Wonderfully improvised riffs showcasing his impressive spontaneity and sharp tongue." Edinburgh Festivals Magazine
“The perfect comedy club host – he is a master of audience interaction. The audience weren’t just warmed up, but pretty hysterical even before the first act of the night hit the stage.” Huffington Post
