The Colonel Fawcett pub, in the back streets of Camden, has built up an incredible reputation since its inception (on the site of The Camden Arms est. 1845) in 2011. One of Camden's few independent free houses, we're proud to offer a great array of 19 beers on draft, over 100 gins and a fantastic…

Description
ALISTAIR BARRIE
Alistair Barrie is one of the top headliners on the international comedy circuit. He has performed in over 40 countries including acclaimed performances in Australia, Cape Town, Mumbai and the legendary Comedy Cellar in New York. He is a regular at London’s world-famous Comedy Store and a core member of their weekly topical ‘Cutting Edge’ team.
He has made countless appearances at UK Festivals including Glastonbury, Latitude, Bestival and Green Man and taken several solo shows to Edinburgh. His 2013 and 2015 shows were runners up for ‘Best Show at The Fringe’ with the latter transferring to London for a run at The Soho Theatre. He's back from another wildly successful, sell-out run of his new show The InternationAL, which garnered 5 star reviews in The Scotsman
Alistair is a frequent panelist on BBC Scotland’s award-winning ‘Breaking the News’ and has appeared on radio and television all over the world, from ‘Good Morning South Africa’ to ‘The Blame Game’ in Northern Ireland. An equal opportunities satirist, he is possibly the only comedian to have performed at both the Labour and Conservative Party conferences.
"No one does righteous indignation with the same brio as Barrie, an inheritor of the splenetic mantle of the great 80s alternative comedians.” Guardian
“Barrie’s analytical nous and store of snappy gags mark him out…Excellent." The Independent
"A no-frills master of his craft" ***** The Scotsman
PETER FLANAGAN
Peter is one of a seemingly endless line of natural Irish talent that has taken up home in London. A grand, straight ahead gag teller in the classic mould, he's lighting up every big room he plays.
“Been rocking Dublin audiences for the past few years. If you like one-liners, this guy is for you.” Aidan Bishop, the International Comedy Club Dublin.
ROSS SMITH
Self-described beta-male Ross Smith (although others also use this term to describe him) has already made his mark on the London comedy scene through featuring in several high profile competitions, becoming a regular face at some of the capitals biggest comedy clubs and hosting the renowned Comedy Virgins at the Cavendish Arms.
Smith’s razor wit, matched with a warmth, sincerity and likability make him a joy to behold.
"Brilliant! You know an act has confidence in his jokes when he laminates them!" Jason Manford
FAYE TREACEY
Musical Comedy Awards, Best Newcomer Faye Treacy went to the Brit School of performing arts with Adele and Jessie J and then studied the trombone at the Royal Academy of Music with no-one interesting! Busy on the London scene, Faye started stand-up 2 years ago and made the finals of the Reading Comedy Festival New Act Competition after her first year.
"Treacy's charm soon wins us round... her one-liners are expertly crafted and sharp." The List
ANGUS DUNICAN
A masterful comic, improviser, podcaster and human, Angus is the epitome of verbose and witty nonsense-talking.
“Angus Dunican is not your average stand-up…such astute and well written turns of phrase.” **** The List
AND YOUR RESIDENT HOST:
BEN VAN DER VELDE
Standing a statuesque five foot five inches high (not in heels) and weighing in at eleven stone (on a good day) Ben is the current light-middleweight contender for compering champion of North London.
"Sharp and crafty gagsmith, a life-giving compere." Chortle
"Wonderfully improvised riffs showcasing his impressive spontaneity and sharp tongue." Edinburgh Festivals Magazine
“The perfect comedy club host – he is a master of audience interaction. The audience weren’t just warmed up, but pretty hysterical even before the first act of the night hit the stage.” Huffington Post
