After a fantastic refurbishment, ETM proudly unveiled their latest opening in the heart of Ealing at the start of this year. I headed west to the Ealing Park Tavern for an evening of drinks, canapes and some old fashioned cockney sing song.
The Venue:
Roaring fires, a warm welcome of oak and mahogany interiors, classic leather upholstery and a nod towards ETM's trademark taxidermy sets the tone from the moment you step inside. I found a vast, cosy space kitted out with a large bar area and several private dining rooms. We felt right at home on this dreary mid-winter evening, but the promise of BBQ and ping-pong in the venue's beautiful beer garden should make it a summer-time favourite too.
The Atmosphere and Clientele:
Ealing Park Tavern offers the perfect drinking and dining experience for both locals and out of towners like myself. The atmosphere on the night was warm, welcoming and very lively, which was due in no small part to The Gents, who's Cockney sing song repertoire stretched from Amy Winehouse's Valerie to Salt n' Pepper's P-p-push it reaaal good! There is a homely, neighbourhood feel, but the venue retains an air of elegance with its interiors and cuisine. It sure ticks all the boxes for private celebrations or corporate dinner functions.
Food and Drink:
The food at this event was nothing short of exceptional. We feasted on culinary delights of sweet chilli squid, black pudding croquettes and a variety of shrimp and bacon croquettes, but the highlight of the evening was the pulled pork sandwiches with lashings of apple sauce! There was also a great selection of cheeses circulating around, complementing the generous flow of prosecco. Ealing Park Tavern is also set to relaunch the old art of on-site ale brewing; offering seasonal brews, house ales and brewing lessons and tasting sessions for its guests.
Summary:
ETM have done it again; delivering a wonderful all-rounder of a venue. Offering a stylish edge without sacrificing on that cosy rural feel, the Ealing Park Tavern strikes a perfect balance of delicious food, booze and merriment.
