The site of the former Jackdaw and Stump has been given a new name and a new lease of life, and is now under the control of the people behind, The Star by Hackney Downs, The Star of Bethnal Green and The Star of Kings. Following its sister venues in both style and moniker, The Jackdaw and Star serves up smoked meats, classic pub dishes and sassy desserts. Behind the bar they stock a good selection of locally produced ales and craft beers, with big names such as Pressure Drop, Truman’s, Camden Brewery, 5 Points Brewery and Brooklyn Brewery making an appearance.

Rob Star, the man behind the Star Group, has certainly got a blueprint for great pub, and this East London gem is no different. Expect amazing food from the guys at Sugarshack, who have taken over the kitchen - and a really lively atmosphere to boot. Sundays welcome the humble roast dinner, with all the trimmings, making the Jackdaw and Star a great spot in Homerton to chill and enjoy some of the finer things in life.
