Description
The Clifton brings modernised pub food to St John’s Wood.
The centuries old pub has been given a new lease of life, maintaining elements of its history and tradition while essentially modernising. The interiors are made of fireplaces and wood panelling alongside chesterfield sofas and comfy armchairs across a spacious, open-planned room. Throughout the day, they offer coffees and pastries, creating a relaxed vibe for people to work in.
The food menu is split into two sections called ‘Drinking House’ and ‘Eating House’, with the former filled with smaller plates to nibble on while drinking and the latter packed with heartier dishes. Many of the plates are made from ingredients typically overlooked by other venues, such as Ox heart and pork neck, creating dishes such as mutton rendang croquettes, banana Raita, lime pickle and curry leaves. For drinks, they offer beers from local craft brewers, as well as a wine list co-created by co-created by Raul Diaz, wine sommelier on Sunday Brunch.
