If you’re looking for a traditional pub experience in the bustling heart of Kensington, The Elephant and Castle will be right up your street.
Just a short walk from High Street Kensington tube station, The Elephant and Castle is conveniently located close to a number of must-see attractions, including Kensington Palace, Kensington Gardens, and the Royal Albert Hall.
Inside the historic pub, you’ll find an impressive variety of traditional pub food available all day, as well as a drinks menu with plenty of wines, cask ales, and spirits.
A favourite spot amongst journalists, the venue’s walls are adorned with iconic front pages. And, if you’re wondering where the name comes from, there are a couple of theories – according to some, it derives from a connection to Catherine of Aragon, while others believe it is linked to the Cutlers’ company of the City of London whose emblem is a war elephant with a howdah on its back. Either way, it’s a great spot to meet friends, enjoy a lazy lunch, or celebrate the end of the working week.
