What they say:
Set to open in July 2014, The Rose and Crown sees old Kentish Town favourite The Torriano reopened and restored to its former glory. The pub has existed since Victorian times but its future looked doubtful a few years back when property developers tried to turn it into flats. Sparking protests and fund raising gigs from none other than Pete Doherty among others; the pub's future now looks bright as new owners Carouse London write the next chapter in its long history.
What we say:
The pub's freehold status will allow the new owners to serve pretty much whatever they fancy, and they will be offering a range of craft beers from local London breweries like Hackney and of course Camden Town. They will also be serving a range of new unique spirits, some great new wines and some great grub too. Not everything will change though, as the pub will continue to host great music and comedy nights that in the past have helped the likes of Mr. Doherty and many others like him on their way to stardom. This new chapter of The Rose and Crown's existence is sure to be a huge hit with locals and not so locals alike.
