Description
The Grenadier in Mayfair has a strong sense of history to it with claims that the pub is in fact haunted by the ghost of an officer, Cedric, who was flogged to death for cheating at cards here. Paranormal presence or not this is a boozer with a long record of military history; bayonets and sabres, a breastplate and bear skin are some of the original decorations that lace the walls of the characterful joint and the intimate, dark and rustic wood-panelled interior make it a cosy yet fascinating place to stop by for a pint or bite to eat in the heart of Belgravia.
The menu features hearty British fare made with fresh ingredients such as its famous beef Wellington, served with truffled mushroom, confit potatoes and greens, grilled octopus with a chorizo and potato hash, plus delicious Sunday roasts. Wash it down with a pint of one of their real ales, beer, or a glass of wine.
