Williamsons Tavern

Although it’s now an iconic London public house, the Williamson’s Tavern was once home to past Lord Mayors of London, welcoming the likes of medieval royalty, such as William III, through its doors. Tracing its history to the mid-1600s, the pub was rebuilt in the 30s where it was given the distinctive look and feel of the era.

Inside, alongside the main bar, you’ll find two private hire spaces which can accommodate around 70 guests each – perfect for private parties – one of which is named after Martha, the alleged ghost that haunts the building.

If you prefer your spirits in a bottle, there’s plenty to choose from behind the bar, as well as a range of cask ales and traditional British pub food on the generous menus.

Head outside and you’ll be spoiled for choice about where to visit: you can reach St Paul’s, the Shard, Tate Modern, the Barbican, HMS Belfast, the Tower of London and many more iconic landmarks. If you want to venture further, that’s no problem either – the pub is around two minutes’ walk from Mansion House Tube Station.
